Short lines keep your lettering larger in the exported image

Use the rainbow text generator above to turn a short headline into a PNG image. Enter up to three lines, choose a gradient and font treatment, select the output width and download. Leave the background transparent when the lettering needs to sit over a photo or video. Choose a solid background when you want a complete title card.

The tool creates an image of your words. It does not change an Instagram bio or turn plain text into colored characters that survive every copy-and-paste destination. For a thumbnail, story cover or video overlay, import the PNG into your editor and position it over the scene. Keep the original wording separately so you can edit it later.

Create your first rainbow text image

Start with a short phrase such as “Your next story.” Enter “Your next” on the first line and “story” on the second. Select Rainbow and Bold sans, keep Transparent background checked, and choose 1080 px as the image width. The preview centers both lines and the dimensions below it show the actual image size before export.

Click Download PNG and open the saved file in an editor that supports image layers. Place it over your chosen photo or video, then adjust the displayed size. Review the complete frame rather than only the transparent file: the background determines whether each color is easy to read. Move the title if it covers a face or the action that explains the scene.

Choose a gradient for the scene

Rainbow uses a sequence of warm and cool colors across the image. It works well for a playful title card when the scene behind it is quiet. Clout blue uses a lighter-to-deeper blue direction for a more restrained creator cover. Sunset combines warm peach, pink and violet. These are selectable presets in the tool, so you can compare the same words without changing the rest of the layout.

Check the brightest part of the gradient against the actual background. Yellow can lose contrast over a pale sky or bright shirt. Light blue can blend into a bright wall. A dark title card can give the lettering a clearer setting; a transparent overlay may need a different position or gradient. Choose the treatment around the scene instead of assuming more colors always make a better headline.

Keep the wording short enough to read

The generator fits each line inside the selected width. A long line needs smaller lettering, even when the file has many pixels. Divide the phrase into two or three meaningful lines, or shorten the wording, if the preview becomes too small. A larger export gives you more pixels; it does not change how much text your viewer can comfortably read in a small thumbnail.

Break lines where the phrase still makes sense. “Your next” and “story” give a clear two-line hierarchy. Splitting every word onto its own line can make a simple title tall and awkward. Blank lines also take space, so remove them when they are accidental. Review the final layout at the size your audience will see, especially on a phone.

Choose a font treatment and inspect its letters

Bold sans is a practical starting point for short creator headlines. Condensed offers a narrower display treatment when the device has a suitable font. Serif gives the title a different editorial feel. The tool uses available system fonts with fallback families, so the exact font appearance can vary between devices. The downloaded PNG preserves the lettering rendered on the device that created it.

Inspect complete letters before accepting the title. Descenders in words containing y, j, g or p need room below the baseline, while accents need room above it. This tool measures visible text bounds and includes padding around the image. Still inspect the export with your chosen wording, especially if it contains unusual symbols or characters that use a fallback font.

Export a transparent overlay or a solid card

Keep Transparent background checked to export lettering with transparent space around it. The checkerboard behind the preview helps show that space and is not part of the transparent PNG. Import the file as an image layer in your editor, then place the creator scene or video below it. A viewer that displays transparency against white can make the export look different from the dark preview.

Uncheck Transparent background to include a solid color in the PNG. The Background color control then appears. Use a solid card for an opening title, a slide or a standalone graphic when you want the lettering and background to travel together. The selected color fills the entire exported image, including the padding around the text.

A solid title card exported from this tool at 1920 pixels wide

Download the solid PNG example or the transparent PNG example to compare them in your editor. The transparent example is 1080 by 414 pixels. The solid example is 1920 by 671 pixels. Both preserve the original tool output.

Select the width for your output

Choose 600, 1080 or 1920 px. The width is fixed by that selection; the height is calculated from the wording, font and line count. The dimensions beneath the preview describe the exported image, not a square post or a full portrait video. If you need a complete 1080 by 1920 composition, place this text image inside a separate canvas with those dimensions in your editor.

Use an export that gives you enough pixels for the size you intend to display. Avoid enlarging a small file across a much wider frame. A transparent title can be smaller than the complete video because it only contains lettering and padding. Position and scale it inside the final frame, then inspect the result before exporting the complete post.

Build a title card around an original creator

Choose the creator image or video first when the title needs to connect to a recognizable character. Leave a quiet area for the headline and keep the face visible. Use one gradient and one font treatment across a small content series so the covers look related. Change the words to describe the actual story rather than repeating the same general headline everywhere.

Clout can create original AI characters and generate photos and videos for that series. Build your character, choose a scene direction, and use the exported text image as an overlay in your editor. Keep the accepted character reference and title treatment together. The text tool makes the PNG; it does not automatically edit or caption the video for you.

Fix common preview and export problems

If the download button is disabled, enter text and keep it within three lines and 200 characters. An empty field has nothing to render. If the title looks too small, shorten the longest line or divide it into shorter lines. If a color disappears into the scene, choose a different preset, move the overlay or use a solid background card.

If a symbol looks different from the rest of the lettering, the device may be using another font for that character. Try another font treatment and review the saved PNG. If the image looks blurry after editing, check whether the editor enlarged it beyond its original dimensions. Export at a suitable width and keep complete lettering inside the final visible frame.

Why colored text does not survive ordinary copying

Plain text copying transfers characters, not this rendered gradient image. A destination needs its own color-formatting controls to recreate the treatment as editable text. For image-based creator content, the PNG keeps the gradient and letter shapes together. For a webpage, styled text can use CSS; that is a separate format from the image download provided here.

The generator exports its preview through the browser’s Canvas image API. PNG supports the transparent-background workflow, while the visible text measurements guide the padding and fit. Save the wording and selected controls with your campaign notes if you want to create another matching card. Review the downloaded file and the final scene together before publishing.

Rendering references

The browser export uses Canvas toBlob to create the image file. TextMetrics descent measurements help account for visible lettering below its baseline.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked questions

Is this rainbow text generator free

The PNG text tool on this page is usable without signing up. Create a short title, select the controls and download the image.

Can I copy rainbow colors into an Instagram bio

Ordinary plain text copying preserves the characters, not the rendered gradient. Use the PNG as an image overlay or recreate the formatting in a destination that supports colors.

Does the downloaded PNG have a transparent background

Keep Transparent background checked for a transparent export. Uncheck it to include the selected solid background color. The preview checkerboard is not part of a transparent PNG.

What size is the exported text image

Choose a width of 600, 1080 or 1920 pixels. The height depends on the wording, font and number of lines, and the actual dimensions appear below the preview.

Why does a long headline look small

The tool fits the longest line into the selected width. Shorten the wording or divide it into up to three lines to keep the lettering larger.

Can I use the text image over a creator video

Import the PNG into an editor as an image layer over your photo or video. Create the original character and scene in Clout, then review the overlay in the final frame.
