GLM Image guide for posters and exact text briefs

GLM Image is worth evaluating when a picture must communicate an exact message. A promotional poster needs clear hierarchy and correct wording as well as attractive artwork. Start with approved copy, a small layout brief and one destination format. Review the downloaded result against those requirements before expanding into a campaign.

Choose the hosted or local GLM Image route

The official GLM Image repository documents text-to-image and image-to-image workflows. It recommends quoting intended image text and requires dimensions divisible by 32. The hosted ZAI overview documents text input, an image URL response and dimensions from 512 to 2048 pixels per side in multiples of 32. Do not assume that a repository feature is exposed by every hosted endpoint.

For a first campaign experiment, choose one route and record its actual operation. Local use also requires checking the selected implementation, dependencies and hardware against current instructions. This guide does not install weights, run GPU inference or benchmark memory use. A repository example is a starting reference rather than proof that it runs on your computer.

Prepare a fictional workshop poster brief

Our original planning exercise is a fictional Daylight Lab event called Paper and Light. The proposed artwork combines folded coral paper and a cobalt ceramic sphere on cream. The intended deliverable is one portrait poster with a clear title, short subtitle and separate date and time block.

Download the exact poster brief, planned hosted request JSON and blank output review sheet. These are preparation resources. No request was submitted, no output URL exists and no GLM Image result is shown. The cover is separate conceptual editorial artwork.

SubtitleCREATIVE WORKSHOPReadable secondary hierarchy

The event is fictional. If you adapt the brief for a real promotion, replace and approve every event detail before generation. Do not let a model invent a venue, price or date to fill a visually empty region. The approved-copy list is the reference against which the actual export should be checked.

Separate exact words from visual direction

Create a portrait workshop poster with folded coral paper and a cobalt ceramic sphere on a warm cream background. Reserve a clear title area and a distinct date and time block. Render only these quoted strings: “PAPER AND LIGHT”, “CREATIVE WORKSHOP”, “SATURDAY 14 NOVEMBER”, “10:00 TO 12:00” and “DAYLIGHT LAB”. Use readable contrast and generous spacing. No extra words, addresses, prices or logos.

This is an unexecuted original prompt. It gives the artwork a subject and supplies text separately so the review has an objective reference. Quoting the wording does not guarantee its accuracy. If a critical line fails, revise that line or add it as controlled editable text during finishing rather than accepting an attractive misspelling.

Validate the request before using an account

The supplied JSON chooses a 1056 by 1568 portrait canvas. Its fields match the documented hosted example structure: model, prompt and size. The local request preflight source checks the expected model name, a nonempty prompt and the numeric dimension rules. Run it with Bun and pass the request JSON path.

The script performs no network request and contains no API key. A passing result reports submitted as false and outputUrl as null. It does not authenticate an account, validate an entire API schema, check a balance or establish that the service will accept the request. Inspect the current authenticated operation and its quote separately before submission.

For the local repository route, use its own current example and input handling. An image-to-image sample using a source image is a different operation from the text-only request supplied here. Keep the source file, edit intention and output dimensions together when evaluating an editing workflow.

Review text at the final delivery size

  1. Transcribe the visible wording: compare every word, digit and punctuation mark with the approved list.
  2. Check hierarchy: the title should establish the event before the supporting details compete for attention.
  3. Inspect line breaks: ensure a split does not change the meaning or separate a time from its context.
  4. Look for extra copy: remove invented addresses, prices or brand marks.
  5. Review the saved file: confirm actual dimensions and type, then inspect the intended social or print version.

The review CSV leaves actual observations empty and marks each row not run. Fill it from your own downloaded result. OCR can help locate a possible spelling issue, but visual review still matters for order, contrast, spacing and whether a word overlaps an object. A correct transcription alone does not prove a poster is readable at thumbnail size.

Choose generated lettering or editable finishing

Text inside a raster image is part of its pixels. If the date changes later, it is not a normal text layer that can simply be edited. For a campaign with repeated schedule or language revisions, keep the approved words in a separate layout master and use the generated artwork as its background.

The YouTube banner layout example demonstrates a raster background with separate editable text objects. That guide addresses banner cropping rather than a poster print specification. Likewise, our comic workflow keeps dialogue and reading order explicit when multiple panels carry information.

For a product-scene prompt expansion comparison, use the ERNIE Image controlled brief workflow.

Keep cost and quality evidence tied to the actual run

Record the selected service, model, dimensions, quoted cost, attempts and accepted results. Separate generation spend from finishing time. A local preflight pass is not a successful generation, and a completed generation is not automatically an accepted poster.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked questions

What is GLM Image

It is an image generation model documented by ZAI. Its official repository includes text-to-image and image-to-image workflows; the hosted overview reviewed here documents text input.

Can GLM Image create text in a poster

The official project targets text-intensive generation and recommends quoting intended text. Check every returned word and the final layout; this guide has not run a text accuracy benchmark.

What image sizes does the planned request use

The supplied request uses 1056 by 1568 pixels. The documented hosted rules require each side between 512 and 2048 pixels and divisible by 32. Local preflight checks those constraints without submitting.

Is the cover a GLM Image result

No. It is separate original editorial artwork made with built-in image generation. No GLM request or inference was run, and the poster review remains unfilled.
