AI video agent guide with a free creative brief builder

Plan an AI video agent workflow with a free local brief builder, original product-shot exercise and job ledger for quotes, generation status and output review

Free local brief builder

Give your video agent a clear first task

Prepare a portable creative brief. This tool runs on your device and does not connect an account, upload assets, quote credits or generate a video.

The 5–180 second planning range is a tool limit, not a promise that every model supports it. Verify actual settings, inputs and costs in the service you select. Prompt instructions do not enforce an account spending limit.

An AI video agent coordinates a video task across planning, source selection, generation and review. The useful question is what it can actually deliver for your project: a talking presenter, a narrated story, a generated shot or an edit of existing material. Choose that deliverable before comparing product names.

Build a portable video agent brief

Use the free local builder above to describe your goal, source material, fixed details, target duration and frame shape. Download the text or copy it into your connected assistant. It does not connect an account, upload references, quote credits, generate footage or publish a result.

The builder’s 5–180 second planning range is its own input limit. It does not establish that every video model supports that duration. Your selected service still needs to verify the exact operation and settings. The generated text asks for one proposed task and a current quote before a paid submission.

Match the agent to the finished deliverable

Product motion shotOwned source image and movement briefShape, contact and full camera move
Narrated storyScript and scene beatsVoice timing, scene order and ending
Presenter explainerApproved script and presenter choiceSpeech, pronunciation and visual timing
Social editSource footage and intended messageContext, pacing and crop

These are original selection criteria, not a claim that every agent supplies every operation. An assistant that analyzes an existing clip is also different from one that generates a new clip. Ask for the supported action and required input rather than relying on the word agent alone.

Compare current agent workflows

HeyGen’s Video Agent page describes a script-led workflow with a blueprint, voiceover, visuals and editing controls. Agent Opus presents social-video creation from scripts, voice and brand assets. Those are provider descriptions; we did not generate a common test project in either service.

Clout MCP connects an assistant to supported Clout creative operations and saved workspace assets. It uses the connected workspace and its credit balance. It is a connection to creative tools, not a promise that one video model can do every task. For a board-based provider example, use our separate Luma creative-agents guide.

Compare the required inputs, the editability of the returned project and the actual export you need. A finished talking-head explainer and a generated cinematic shot solve different problems. Do not score them as interchangeable products just because both begin with a text box.

Start with one six second product shot

Our original exercise is a teal desk lamp on a warm coral table. The requested movement is a gentle push toward the lamp. The lamp silhouette, switch position, shade color and table contact must remain consistent. Choose an owned reference that makes those details easy to see.

Plan one short product shot from my owned lamp photograph. Use a gentle camera push and keep the lamp silhouette, switch location, shade color and contact with the table consistent. First verify a supported operation and its settings, locate the actual source asset and show the current cost. Create only the agreed shot, then return the exported file for review.

Download the original lamp brief and blank job and review ledger. These are planning aids. The independent cover depicts a fictional director and storyboard; it is not an agent interface or evidence that a video was rendered.

Separate references from descriptions

Naming a photo in a chat does not prove that a tool received it. Ask the assistant to identify the actual selected source before submitting. Give each input one role: product geometry, person identity, setting, movement or narration. An attractive mood reference may not show the switch you need to preserve.

Approve a still before using it as the source of a motion task. If a rejected picture becomes the next reference, the defect can carry forward into the video. Keep the accepted source and rejected takes separately. Use the product-edit fidelity worksheet when the source itself needs revision.

Make the quote specific to the operation

A useful proposal names the selected tool, model, settings, source and current charge. A plan’s monthly credit allowance does not establish the price of a particular render. Include paid rejected takes when calculating the cost of an accepted asset.

Clout’s connected tools expose a generation quote and an approved maximum for a paid call. That service-specific check is different from writing a spending instruction in a prompt. The local builder does not enforce a budget or verify approval in another service. Check what your selected tool actually supports.

Keep a submitted job distinct from a finished video

Save the returned identifier after a service accepts a request. A queued or generating status means work is still in progress. A local observation timeout does not prove the remote job stopped. Inspect the existing request before paying for a replacement.

For an intentional new creative attempt, record a new local intent and its changed brief. For a transmission retry of the same unchanged request, use the service’s documented duplicate-prevention mechanism where supported. Do not assume another vendor shares Clout’s request-key behavior.

Review the whole export before expanding

For the lamp exercise, watch the start, middle and ending at the intended viewing size. Check whether the switch moves, the shade changes, the base slides or new objects enter the frame. Inspect actual dimensions, duration and sound rather than treating requested settings as observed file properties.

A completed status proves neither creative approval nor readiness to publish. Mark the specific mismatch in the ledger, then decide whether to revise the source, change the motion or accept the take. Keep posting as a separate decision after the actual file has been reviewed.

Grow the workflow around an accepted result

For an original character-story planning example, inspect the AI fruit story storyboard and silent animatic, including its filled continuity observations.

Once the shot works, expand with a clear dependency: a new crop, another product angle or a second scene. Retain the accepted source and the reason it passed. Scaling a weak first take multiplies review work rather than establishing a coherent campaign.

Explore Clout Image and Video for supported individual media operations and AI Cinema for a scene-led project. Clout publishes this guide. No hands-on cross-service quality, cost or speed ranking was performed. For a narrated exercise, continue with the story script and scene-planning guide.

Sources and testing

Published by Clout, which offers connected creative tools. Official Clout MCP, HeyGen Video Agent and Agent Opus pages plus Clout tool execution code checked November 1, 2026 UTC. Local brief-builder validation tested; no authenticated cross-service generation, checkout, quality or speed benchmark performed. Cover is fictional editorial artwork. Example brief and blank ledger are planning aids; browser interaction was not tested.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked questions

What does an AI video agent do

It coordinates parts of a video task such as planning, source selection, generation and review. Supported operations differ by service, so choose around the deliverable you need.

Does the free brief builder generate a video

No. It prepares text locally for you to copy or download. It does not connect an account, upload media, quote a charge, submit a job or publish.

Does a completed generation mean the video is ready to post

No. Review the actual exported sequence, sound, dimensions and ending against the creative brief before making a separate publishing decision.

Can I use the same requested duration in every service

No. Duration and frame shape in the brief are planning targets. Verify that the selected operation and model support them before submitting.
