Image sequence to video with a free local PNG converter

Convert a PNG image sequence to a silent MP4 locally, reorder frames, choose frame rate and flatten transparency onto a background with a free browser tool.

FREE LOCAL VIDEO TOOL

Turn a PNG sequence into an MP4

2 to 48 PNGs · Matching even dimensions up to 1024 × 1024 · Up to 20 MB total

Your PNGs stay on your device · Conversion engine loads from jsDelivr · MP4 flattens transparency onto the chosen background · No generated in-between frames or audio

Original eight transparent walk drawings ordered as one second of video at eight frames per second

Generated images, rendered animation frames and hand-drawn poses are easier to review as a clip when their order and timing are explicit. An image sequence to video workflow assembles the frames you already have. It differs from asking an AI model to create movement from a single image.

Turn PNG frames into a silent MP4

Choose 2 to 48 PNGs with matching even dimensions between 2 and 1024 pixels per side, totaling at most 20 MB. The converter checks their headers and decoded dimensions, then shows the selected order. Use Earlier and Later to move a frame before encoding. Repeated filenames remain separate entries in that list.

Choose the frame rate and a background color for transparent areas. Press Convert to MP4, wait for the local encoder, then play and download the result. The first conversion loads about 31 MB of engine code from jsDelivr. Your PNGs are processed on your device rather than uploaded to a conversion server.

The output is H264 video in an MP4 container, with no audio. Transparency is flattened onto the selected color because this output does not carry the PNG alpha channel. Keep your source PNGs if you need to composite transparent frames later.

Once the clip is assembled, compare ripple rolling and slip edits in the frame lab before changing its timing in your native editor.

Choose frame rate from the intended duration

Frame countFrame rateOutput duration
88 fps1 second
2424 fps1 second
2412 fps2 seconds
488 fps6 seconds

Duration equals frame count divided by frame rate. Increasing the rate plays the same frames faster; it does not create additional poses or smoother in-between motion. If you need an intermediate action, draw or generate and inspect those frames before assembling the sequence.

The last frame occupies one frame interval. Do not add a duplicate of the first frame to every repeating loop unless the intended delivery includes that hold. Our original eight-pose example samples the walk-cycle drawing study every third source frame and plays those eight samples at 8 fps.

Try the original walk example

Load original walk example brings eight transparent drawings into the tool. They share a 128 by 192 canvas. Compare the poses in the list, convert them and inspect the saved MP4. They are authored schematic drawings, not an AI-generated character, mocap recording or realistic gait benchmark.

Download the example frame-order plan and validation and timing source. The source paths refer to the published original drawings. The sprite sheet generator packs separate PNGs into an atlas instead of making a video; choose the deliverable your engine or editor needs.

Understand the FFmpeg sequence pattern

FFmpeg's image2 documentation explains numbered image sequences and input frame rate. In a command-line workflow, keep the filenames and start number consistent. A gap or a different numbering scheme can change which files are read.

The browser tool avoids depending on your filenames by assigning internal names such as frame-000.png in the displayed order. It flattens each image at the original dimensions, then encodes the sequence with the chosen input frame rate. It does not resize a mismatched frame to make the set pass validation.

Use sequences in an AI production workflow

Prepare approved images or render frames in Clout Image and Video or the relevant native tool. Check subject identity, pose progression, framing and lighting before assembly. A converter faithfully playing inconsistent images will still produce an inconsistent clip.

For a dialogue or story sequence, use AI Cinema to plan the scene and the screen-direction ledger to track the route. For a native layered scene, the two-and-a-half-D study supplies another example of authored frames and a known camera move.

Review the downloaded video

Check the first frame, last frame, total duration and playback order in the saved file. MP4 encoding can change pixel colors through compression and chroma subsampling, so it is not a lossless replacement for the PNG sequence. Use the original frames when inspecting exact edges, alpha or fine lettering.

If the engine cannot load, check the network connection or try a smaller set. Cancel stops the current worker so you can retry. When a newly selected set is invalid, the previous valid frames remain selected and the message explains the validation failure.

Sources and testing

Official sources checked October 24, 2026. Original Clout drawings, numeric studies and planning resources. The sequence tool encodes user-selected PNGs locally; no generated in-between frames, ShotVerse inference or independent model benchmark is claimed.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert an image sequence to video

Choose matching PNG frames, arrange their order, select the frame rate and background, then encode and download the MP4.

Does the converter upload my PNGs

No. It prepares and encodes the frames locally. The conversion engine is downloaded from jsDelivr.

Will the MP4 keep transparency

No. The tool flattens transparent areas onto the selected background color. Keep the original PNGs for alpha-aware editing.

Does raising the frame rate generate smoother motion

No. It plays the same frames faster. The tool does not generate in-between frames.

What PNG files can I use

Use 2 to 48 matching PNGs with even dimensions from 2 to 1024 pixels per side and at most 20 MB in total.
