A product demonstration shows what something does. A testimonial describes someone's actual experience. Those are different kinds of evidence, and the software should preserve the distinction. A synthetic actor can explain a feature; it should not invent a customer history.
Choose tools by evidence type
| Asset | Production approach | Tools to evaluate |
|---|---|---|
| Physical demonstration | Film the actual product and edit clearly | CapCut or Canva |
| Customer testimonial | Record genuine experience with permission | Creator service plus an editor |
| Factual presenter explanation | Use an approved script and inspect the output | HeyGen or another presenter platform |
| Recurring brand persona | Original identity with factual promotional creative | Clout |
Canva's editor is one option for assembling real material. If you need a creator service, compare deliverables, revisions, experience and usage permission; a marketplace is not interchangeable with an AI actor generator.
A clear product demo script
“Here is [specific task]. First, [actual action]. Then, [actual result visible in the footage]. This is designed for [verified use case]. Check [product page or instructions] for compatibility and limitations.”
Show the action while it is described. For a storage container, demonstrate the lid, usable dimensions and cleaning process using the real item. Do not use generated motion as proof if it changes the mechanism, material or product scale.
Collect a useful genuine testimonial
Ask what the person used, the situation, what happened and any limitation. Avoid coaching them into a result they did not experience. Keep permission, the original recording and the accepted edit together. Editing should clarify the account without changing its meaning.
The FTC's official testimonial guidance addresses fake or false underlying testimonials and explains that actor portrayals can still be deceptive. A disclosure does not turn invented customer experience into real evidence. Have the responsible team review applicable requirements.
Review generated explanation separately
If you use an AI presenter, write factual third-person or brand-language copy: “The product includes…” rather than “I used this for a month…” when no such experience exists. Review the exact export for speech, captions and product references. An AI voice can confidently mispronounce a feature or repeat an unsupported claim.
What to check before approval
- Does the footage show the actual product behavior?
- Is the spoken claim supported by the source material?
- Does the caption preserve qualifications and limits?
- Is any testimonial genuine and properly permitted?
- Are synthetic elements clear where disclosure is required?
Do not count a file as approved until the evidence and final message agree. A polished visual can make a weak claim more persuasive, which is precisely why factual review matters.
Use Clout for continuity
Clout can support recurring original creator assets around a brand's verified message. Pair those assets with real product evidence when the demonstration must be exact. The persona is a communication device, not a substitute for a customer's lived experience.
